The communications firm Edelman found out from a survey that the people’s trust in the technology has been reduced in a concerning manner. Decline of trust in technology are 4%, 7% and 6%, globally, in US and in Australia respectively according to the report.

60% of people who took the survey went on to say that the speed at which the technology develops is too much and the government’s knowledge on technology is not sufficient to regulate it. 66% complained that because of this rapid development, in the near future it will be impossible to identify the reality based on what we see and hear.

Edelman further stated that this should alert the technology companies and they should be transparent about the possible downsides of technologies. 54% who took this study were in the idea that, in order to gain their trust back, the technology companies should communicate the relevant downsides.
