NASA to collaborate with students

NASA seeks the help of students for their moon and mars missions.

NASA is doing whatever possible to make their ambitious Mars and Moon missions successful. The latest news is that they are expecting the help from schools as well. They have decided to run a round of their Moon to Mars Exploration Systems and Habitation Academic Innovation Challenge which allows university students to study and develop space technologies. As for this challenge, the students will have to work on habitation, vehicles, robotic advance missions, "foundational systems" and human spaceflight architecture focused on the lunar Gateway.

The prizes will be in between at $15,000 to $50,000 in value. According to NASA, the projects from the students need not to be only tangible, it could be researches that fills "knowledge gaps" or reduces risks. The deadline for proposals are April 24th.

The results from the competition might not be that crucial for NASA’s Moon and Mars missions. But the modules and concepts that would be introduced through this might come in handy in much broader problems like traveling to and surviving in places beyond Earth.
